Vinyl Fences in Tecumseh

Vinyl Fences for Tecumseh homes

Tecumseh stretches from lakeside neighbourhoods on Lake St. Clair to the Oldcastle industrial area and farmland in the former Sandwich South township. On wind-exposed Tecumseh lots near the lake, solid vinyl panels take a lot of load. We use the manufacturer's reinforced posts and stiffeners where recommended, and suggest semi-privacy styles with small gaps where full privacy isn't essential.

What's included

Low-maintenance vinyl privacy, semi-privacy and picket fences that never need paint, installed straight and level on a solid post layout. Depending on your property, the work can include:

• Exact post layout
• Posts set in concrete
• Panels and rails
• Stepping on slopes
• Gates
• Caps and clean-up
• Site visit.
• Written quote.
• Layout and posts.
• Panels and gates.

Local conditions in Tecumseh

Wind off Lake St. Clair puts extra load on solid fences in north Tecumseh, so we tighten post spacing or suggest designs that let some air through. In the rural south, longer runs and open ground call for heavier terminal posts and bracing.

Questions to ask before you hire

Whoever you hire for vinyl fences in Tecumseh, get clear answers to these before signing:

• What thickness and brand of vinyl are you installing?
• Will gate and end posts have metal stiffeners?
• How will the panels handle the slope in my yard?
• What warranty comes with the material and the installation?

By-laws, permits and locates

Tecumseh asks homeowners to get a fence permit, make sure the fence is on their own property and book a final inspection. Fences can be up to 1.9 metres in rear and side yards and 1.22 metres in front yards. Pool fences must be at least four feet high, not climbable and fitted with spring-loaded, self-latching gates on the pool side. Rules change, so we confirm current requirements with the Town and request utility locates before digging.
